Sonin Construction built an open air front porch and an enclosed, heated rear porch for our home. Nelson, the owner, has excellent craftsman and workers on his staff. They take pride in their work and are courteous. Nelson does a great job coordinating with the City of Chicago for permit inspections, which due to the City's backlog on available inspection dates, can normally really slow down the execution of a project. We were fortunate to have our project finished and complete as soon as it was. We think the value for the money was great, with much attention to detail. In addition, we had a few out of scope additions to our contract, or change orders, and we always felt that Nelson gave us a fair price estimate for these add-ons. In the past, we've experienced many other contractors who jack up these change order requests quite a bit. We'd highly recommend Sonin Construction for home reconstruction of any type.

We were really happy with the work Sonin Construction did on our 100+ year old home! We needed a complete second floor remodel, including expanding a half bath into the full dormer space and finishing a very large unfinished attic space. Nelson was always responsive, and his workers always showed up, which goes a long way! Their attention to detail was really appreciated, and they happily did the work according to our preferences and wishes. Would absolutely hire them again and recommend them in a heartbeat.

I’m so glad we went with Sonin to redo our main floor bathroom! We changed the existing layout and updated everything - tile, vanity, fixtures, etc. They did a great job! They were super responsive and worked quickly and efficiently. Their cost felt really reasonable, especially for how great the final product is. We loved working with Sonin Construction for our home remodeling project. All the rooms turned out beautifully (added a bathroom and bedroom in basement, remodeled powder room, added exterior door, moved closet in bedroom). The team at Sonin Construction is responsive and easy to work with. My wife and I both appreciated how everyone we met (plumbers, electricians, tiling, and general work crew) was more than happy to explain what was going on, options, or troubleshoot issues with us. All the horror stories we heard about potential issues with construction projects had us so nervous but we never ran into any of those problems with Sonin Construction. While it is not exactly fun to have work on your house, we really did have fun working on this project with everyone there and they are all just great people to work with. Highly recommended!

We hired Sonin Construction to remodel our kitchen and convert our first floor into an open floorplan, which required taking out a load-bearing wall. Nelson and his team were wonderful to work with. They went above and beyond to ensure that everything went along smoothly. This was a big, complicated project that required lots of patience and attention to detail. Nelson and his team worked extremely hard to make sure that it turned out just as we had imagined. Nelson is trustworthy, reliable and knowledgeable. We highly recommend working with him and his team if you're planning on doing any sort of home improvement project. We finally have our dream home thanks to Nelson & the entire Sonin Construction team. We couldn't be happier and can't wait to work with Nelson and his team in the future!

Sonin Construction did an amazing job renovating and remodeling our house. The entire first floor was remodeled - changed the format of the floor plan, renovated and remodeled the bathrooms and the kitchen, electrical and plumbing, and installed new windows. My wife and I are extremely happy with the results and outcome. As a designer, I am very particular when it comes to the quality of work and the details. Sonin Construction did not disappoint. Nelson (the owner) is super responsive, knowledgable, and trustworthy. We plan on using Sonin Construction to redo our Master En Suite Bathroom in the future.

“My husband and I have been remodeling our home for the last 2 years and during that time we have...”

My husband and I have been remodeling our home for the last 2 years and during that time we have used 5 different crews to complete the work. Why you ask? Because the first 4 were a nightmare. Working with that number of crews you come in contact with all kinds, and I mean all kinds (the kinds that give you nightmares, result in tears and wasted time and money.) Needless to say when we thought of finally finishing our first floor remodel that included ripping up our floor, replacing doors and trim, redoing a bathroom and laundry room and updating the old plumbing, I accepted that this would probably be as painful as all the others. I am here to report not so. Nelson came out to the house 3 times to walk thru and provide a quote. I had already purchased about 90% of the materials needed for the job, and he was very accommodating. I could sense that he "got" the vision and was down. Once we got going his crew was *one time * *reasonably clean * and *incredibly nice*. Nelson made every attempt to communicate what the plan was for the week and 9 times out of 10 that's what happened. For those that have been doing remodels you know that is not the norm. The few bumps we hit, Nelson rolled with and made every effort to correct, or be flexible around without upset or change orders. Example, Jesus, who was doing the tile, laid the tile in the wrong pattern on an accent wall. After mentioning it, Jesus came back the next day and rapidly relaid the tile, without any hurt feelings or issues. Let's just say, I feel beyond lucky to have found Nelson and his crew. They made the final leg of our remodel journey as easy and painless as one could hope for.

Sonin construction was great to work with. They completed a complete demolition and rebuild of my front porch and side stairs. They were quick, efficient, and easy to communicate with. They answered any questions I had quickly with email, text, and/or phone. When I had questions about the contract, they were quick to go over it with me and assuage and confusion. Overall, I was very pleased with the finished product as well.
