We have used Lynn Architects this past year for two remodeling projects. The first was a remodel of my son's home in Villa Park, Illinois. My son's home is a 60's era brick bungalow with one bathroom and four 10' x10' bedrooms. We wanted to turn two of the bedrooms into a primary suite consisting of a bedroom, a full bathroom and a walk in closet. We also wanted to move the hall closet from the kitchen to another location. Why it was in the kitchen is anyone's guess. We had a pretty good feel for what we wanted to do but Mr. Lynn and his team created a most clever arrangement that maximized the existing space, created a better flow between rooms, and rearranged the closets while providing more room within the existing footprint. Mr. Lynn is to be commended most for fitting in the new bathroom into a location that we had not considered. He was able to make all of the plumbing runs work within the structure available. The bathroom conundrum was the most vexing to us but Mr. Lynn's solution allowed us to maximize the space within the primary suite. He really created a very pleasant oasis for my son. The closet reconfigurations actually created bigger closets and more space in the kitchen. The second project was a little different as it was a basement finishing project for my son in Montgomery, Illinois. His home is brand new house with an unfinished basement and roughed in bathroom. Mr. Lynn provided his "consultation service". He met with me and my son on site to review our ideas, offer his suggestions, and provide advice on meeting all of the relevant building codes. My sons and I have become fairly adapt renovators so, a full set of architectural drawings was not required on this project but Mr. Lynn's valuable insights and clever solutions have helped us to clarify our vision and prepare our drawings for submission to the building department. We have been completely satisfied with Lynn Architects. We especially enjoyed the give and take of working with Mr. Lynn and his team and appreciated his willingness to involve us in the design process. We actually felt a part of the team! Now that we are finally settled into our home, we can share what a beautiful job Lynn did for us. We customized our layout, and Mike was incredible to work with. He thought of so many details that an untrained eye wouldn’t recognize, but multiple contractors and our GC complimented on his great attention to detail, creativity and craftsmanship in the design, and commitment to maximize the space for us. He reviewed our lot, carefully considered the placement of the home, windows, and other elements to take in things like sunsets, what we looked out our kitchen windows to, roof pitch to count for a potential bonus room, etc. so much thought and care goes into his plans and it was great to work with him on. He goes above and beyond for his clients and exceeded expectations. We are absolutely in love with how it turned out!
