We spent a lot of time talking to contractors, designers, and even engineers, about how to update the kitchen in our 1940s-era house in Highland Park. It’s a great house, but the kitchen is small, oddly shaped, and it has some ‘unique’ design challenges (like low soffits which can’t be removed) that made remodeling really challenging. We knew we needed a true craftsman; We engaged Dorin and his team, and we could not be happier with the results. Dorin was great to work with in all phases of the project: he helped us finalize a design, he communicated well during the project as we had to make choices, and, as problems were discovered (it’s an old house) he was able to provide pragmatic (and cost effective) solutions (wiring, plumbing, structural). He also hand crafted a built-in bench for us, and while it may be an odd thing to comment on … that bench is a remarkable bit of work (thank you Dorin!). I’ll attach pictures; but note that we have not painted the walls yet, etc. Overall, we very highly recommend Dorin and the entire Hi-Tech team (5 stars plus), particularly if you have a challenging project and/or need creative solutions to design elements.

I received Dino's name from the Tile Shop. He was my fourth and final estimate--I immediately sensed that he was highly skilled and capable of trouble shooting. Dino made suggestions (such as a walk-in shower instead of a bathtub) that no one else had offered. He was responsive to texts and emails before the project began and throughout its duration. Dino worked on my bathroom remodeling and entranceway tile continuously for 5.5 weeks; I felt that he gave my projects his full attention. Dino was "hands on" whether it be tile, painting, electrical work, or plumbing. He dealt with unexpected mold and did "detective work" to solve the problem of a leak from our upstairs bathroom. Dino knew how to keep the job moving along. He has a keen eye and fashion sense; he really helped me make great decisions on paint color, grout, placement of fixtures, and miscellaneous items. Dino is well connected with individuals who do shower door installation, hardwood floor buffing, caulking, and even natural stone slabs. Dino was assisted by George on a daily basis with many aspects of the remodeling. George's tile workmanship is absolutely amazing. He meticulously and strategically placed each tile like an artist creating a masterpiece! Besides their professionalism, both Dino and George are pleasant, punctual, and patient. Their work ethic is incredible. By the way, I don't think Dino ever began a conversation without first asking me how MY day was going.
