Over the course of a year and a half, we had the pleasure of working with DeGroot Construction on our new house build. From our initial meeting with them, to the ceremonial "handing over of our keys" upon the completion of the home, we were extremely satisfied with the entire process. Constant communication, a clear scope of work, laser-focus on details and superb quality of work are just a few of the DeGroot team's outstanding traits. A project of our size automatically comes with some hiccups and issues (to no fault of DeGroot). Adam and his team truly had the perspective that these hiccups or issues weren't "problems," but situations that just needed to be solved thoughtfully and efficiently. We are so grateful to DeGroot for their professionalism, thoughtfulness, high-end work and talent! We would be remiss if we didn't share just how KIND and FUN this team was, too... lots of laughs and humor involved which kept us all sane with completing a project of this size.

“I'd give DeGroot more stars if Google would let me.”

I'd give DeGroot more stars if Google would let me. A friend recommended them as we'd purchased a house that needed some love and updates. Derek was exceptional from start to finish - from helping me hone the very extensive wish list, providing thoughtful suggestions to help make budget, adding to the project because I really needed that special feature, and going above and beyond in all aspects. The scope included a hall bathroom remodel, a primary bathroom remodel, and a full fireplace gut. From beginning to end, I had full visibility into what was happening each day, who and what was coming tomorrow, and what decisions I needed to make by when to keep things moving. Rob was the absolute best project manager; he became the guardian angel of the house. We ran into leaks, flooding due to a failed pump, an old water heater that finally gave out (all outside DeGroot's scope), and Rob went above and beyond to jump in and assist. DeGroot cares about their clients. A lot. Like having a trusted friend remodel your home. You can expect they will be honest, professional, detail-oriented, and above all, attentive. Not to mention this was all done while we were living here, working from home, with a newborn and a toddler. Rob and crew were extremely diligent in protecting surfaces, minimizing dust, and reducing the construction footprint as much as possible for our family. The quality of their work is impeccable, and I wouldn't hesitate for a second enlisting them for future projects, in this house and beyond. If you're looking for an amazing contractor, there's only one thing to do in a moment like this - strut...and call DeGroot. You will not regret it.

Adam and his crew converted our horse stalls into mini aviaries with predator proofing and adding a window for the birds to look through. They also converted a previous chicken coop into a larger aviary by enclosing it, adding a double door entrance (for security), predator proofing, and adding Eze-Breeze windows for convenient opening and closing with the weather. Both buildings also got fresh concrete and epoxy sealant to make cleaning a breeze! I plan to use DeGroot Construction for future aviary projects!

We used Adam and Derek to remodel almost our entire house over the course of six years (Kitchen and Family room, then full Basement and bath, then Master Bath and two other full bathrooms). They are worth every penny and more. These gentlemen are not only great at what they do (high quality work, great subs, responsive and never miss a deadline), they are are also some of the best people you will ever work with. My wife and I have the highest respect for Adam and Derek as craftsmen, businessmen and human beings. We can't recommend them highly enough.

This is a long overdue shout out to DeGroot Construction. Adam and his team did an absolutely incredible job for us on a third floor bedroom/bathroom remodel last year. They were thorough, trustworthy, and did extremely high quality craftsmanship. They will be our “go to” contractor from here on out. We recently called Adam asking if he and his team could make time to put in a wheelchair ramp at our house for my dad who is ill. As usual, we got a quick response, the work completed faster than we could have imagined, and a ramp that’s construction is second to none. We can’t recommend this team highly enough and are so appreciative of them.

We were told DeGroot was the best, and they are. Even through a global pandemic, with an economy on hold and quarantine measures in place, Adam and Derek managed to safely, quickly and with lots of laughs, beautifully transform our new house into our dream home.
