I have had the honor and privilege of working with Stefan for a number of projects now. When we first moved into our home, he worked on making new shelves for our closets and kitchen pantry. He installed multiple shelving units in multiple rooms and made them functional for our children. The kitchen pantry continues to hold up despite how much groceries my wife puts on it! We were so happy with his work that we decided to reach out again in hopes that he could make a bench for our bay window in our kitchen. He did not disappoint! It turned out beautifully. When my wife and I were having a hard time conceptually understanding an updated bench design, he drove out of his way to speak with us in person to make it easier to follow (architecture/dimension explanations can be confusing to me). He was patient and answered all of our questions in a timely manner. If you are looking for an absolute professional who communicates, listens, and offers fair pricing, look no further. I would gladly recommend Stefan to family and friends!

We were referred to Custom Works by a friend in Naperville area who had previously worked with them, and they absolutely lived up to the recommendation. Our basement had suffered flooding damage, and we needed a full basement remodel, not just cosmetic repairs. The Custom Works team rebuilt the space from the ground up and created a beautiful bar area along with a comfortable living space and custom media wall for entertaining. The craftsmanship and attention to detail were outstanding, but what really stood out was how easy and transparent they were to work with throughout the entire project. Communication was clear, timelines were realistic, and we always felt supported in every decision. What started as a stressful situation turned into our favorite space in the house. We would absolutely recommend Custom Works to anyone in Naperville or nearby suburbs looking for a high-quality basement remodel or any custom home remodel project.

We had the absolute best experience with Custom Works. I reached out to them because I’d been given an old church pew by my mother that I desperately wanted to integrate into our home, but was the wrong size. Their team came out the same day I contacted them, examined the project, set expectations, and quoted a price. From there, Bojana was so communicative, kind, and helpful from the time we accepted the quote to confirming she received our final payment. It was so refreshing to work with someone who cared about our project as much as I did! To add, and most importantly, the quality of work is just exceptional. I wanted this bench made longer, and not only was it made longer - it’s stronger, more beautiful, and still honors the piece as it started. The wood they used is extraordinary quality, the color is perfect, and the detail in the woodwork is beyond what I could have hoped for. I couldn’t be happier with our experience, and I will absolutely call them again for any future projects.

“My fridge cutout/cabinet started coming apart from the cabinetry next to it.”

My fridge cutout/cabinet started coming apart from the cabinetry next to it. My fridge was failing, and moving it in and out of that space for service several times recently was putting more stress on that joint (tight fit) and widening the crack. I contacted Custom Works for a free estimate to repair it. Based on the pictures I had sent initially, they thought it might require a rebuild to fix. I didn't think that level of work was required, but they were happy to send a tech out to assess. To my surprise, the fix was even simpler than I anticipated. It looked worse than it was, and it was fixed in a couple minutes with a drill and one screw. Admittedly, it was a little embarrassing to have had someone out for such a simple job that I could have done myself. But the tech from Custom Works was very nice and happy to help. My issue was fixed without any charge, and I'll reach out to Custom Works again if I have any future projects they can help with.

Oh my gosh, I cannot say enough good things about Stefan and Bojana! From the very start, their communication was outstanding—they were patient and prompt in responding to my (many!) questions. I was terrified that with our piano, the shelving would look off. They went above and beyond in reassuring me - literally by making a virtual design - so I could be confident in my decisions. The installation process was fast, smooth, and handled with incredible attention to detail. This project has been a dream of mine for years, and they turned it into a reality even better than I imagined. I’m beyond thrilled with the result and would definitely use them again. Stefan took great care to understand what I was trying to accomplish and provided a quote within a day or so of the initial visit. I couldn't be happier with the outcome (see before/after photos) ... Custom Works took care of everything from the initial planning / measurements, electrical contractors, drywall/painters in addition to the custom framing and finished carpentry. The new space is now my favorite room in our house!

“From start to finish the process with Custom works was exceptional.”

From start to finish the process with Custom works was exceptional. I had a vision of a multi purpose entryway cabinet that would serve as toy storage for my toddler, overspill storage for all of my entertaining items in the middle and the a bookshelf at the top. Stefan understood my vision and quickly turned around designs and edits and gave really good advice on what would work and enhancements. The finished product exceed expectations and Stefan is just the most lovely person to work with. We absolutely love the finished design and it’s very durable as my toddler opens and slams the doors all day! Highly recommend Custom Design & Stefan - great as his craft and easy to work with.
