Jakub and his Buildmax crew rebuilt our 6 car garage that had collapsed during the heavy February snow. The resulting structure is beautiful as well as functional. The design and finishes blend into our existing classic Chicago brick 3 flat perfectly. Jakub valued us as clients and treated our home and spaces with respect, like it was his own. He is always professional, reasonable, and transparent; especially concerning timelines and expectations. His crews move quickly while still maintaining high quality work which is often hard to find in Chicago. Our collapse was an insurance claim that took 2.5 years to get approved (insurance/ building dept/ zoning etc) Buildmax and Arko Architecture stuck with us for the duration, helping make sure we were on track, while the actual construction of the garage only took a few months. The pictures and videos above are our build. We couldn’t he happier with the results and will continue to use Buildmax for future projects regardless of the size.

After watching Buildmax complete a large project for the building across the alley, our condo association reached out to Jakub and hired them on to do two concrete pours inside our basements. They did a fantastic job, and we know that we will bring them in for future jobs. Jakub spent a lot of time with us to ensure they understood what we needed for the project, we worked out the complicated way it would take to get materials down into the basement safely, and the job looked terrific when they were done. They were extremely competitive with their bid and excellent to work with!!

I have nothing but good experiences working with this company. In fact I can’t remember working with a company the was as willing to listen and help as much as this company is. I contacted Jakub about fixing my retaining wall and concrete stairs leading down to my basement. It was a large task and honestly I’m not really in his servicing area but because he saw I was in dire need he took me on anyway. Everything he did was professional! He gave me an estimate, drew up a contract and had his men coming out on time every day until the project was done. He always contacted me when the project was going into the next phase and what to expect, and I never had a problem contacting him with any questions. I can’t say enough how happy I am with their work. Before I hired them I tried really hard to find a bad review but I honestly could not and I see why. They are professional, on time and get the job done without cutting corners. I hope to work with Jakub and his crew in the future!

Our self-managed property sought a contractor who would be capable of executing a major, multi-tiered project involving structural concrete finishing and carpentry in coordination with an emergency sewer/plumbing service already onsite. And complete the work at a fair price. Principal contractor Jakub’s professional references – sourced by us on our own and not solicited from Jakub - were laudatory; he was characterized as knowledgeable, capable, honest and hardworking. We were convinced to hire Buildmax to implement a structural engineer’s drawings to rebuild and fortify a failing retaining wall that supports the building’s four-story decks and to then demolish and repave a portion of the parking lot that was compromised. We were impressed that Jakub was onsite every day of the project to supervise and advise. He is communicative and adaptive. Both he and his crews are respectfully punctual and reliable. And they went above and beyond with safety measures to placate this nervous client. Jakub worked in conjunction with our plumbers to maximize efficiency and keep costs down on the project. Jakub works with seasoned concrete professionals and carpenters who are clearly longtime friends and collaborators, making it feel like a trustworthy family outfit.
