From a design perspective, it was a constant conversation; Mark seamlessly took our ideas and translated them into tangible action. He brought multiple options to the table regularly, guiding us throughout the entire process. He pushed us forward outside of our comfort zone with a few ideas/choices in *the* best way possible and we are thrilled with the end result. As a project manager, Mark was meticulous in detail orientation, pleasing multiple contractors with the clarity of direction.

They say there’s no place like home but designing your home can be stressful even in the best of times; choosing furniture, fabrics, lighting and flooring can be overwhelming. Mark Shubert of Phillip Harrison was a collaborative partner throughout the process. Mark is resourceful and practical - always keeping in mind how the room will function. His team of electricians, flooring installers and painters were professional, on time and on budget. There were lots of decisions to be made along the way - his suggestions of color, texture and furniture placement made my space warm and inviting. We absolutely loved working with Mark! He helped us furnish and decorate many rooms in our new construction home - two offices, living room, dining room, kitchen nook, basement family room, and primary bedroom. With an open first floor, it was important to us that each room felt different but all design aspects flowed well together. Mark did a wonderful job taking elements from each space and making it feel cohesive. Our favorite rooms were our offices. Mark listened to what my husband and I wanted and completely nailed it! Each office perfectly shows off our individual design flare. Overall, we worked very well with Mark. Communication was 10/10 and being that this was the first time we had designed a home, we truly felt like our ideas/visions/concerns were being accounted for. I worked with Mark on the renovation of our primary bathroom. Going into this project, we had a tight timeline to finish the work before the due date of our baby and Mark was confident we could do that, which he made happen! What I most valued in addition to his expertise in design was his project management. He told us at the start of the project that if anything were to go wrong, he would first try to come with possible solutions before just saying there’s a problem. This was true one day when our original scheduled contractor had to back out — Mark immediately found another trusted contractor that he worked with in the past that was ready to start next week and keep our timeline on track. We were so happy with our finished project, it was a great blend of key elements I knew I wanted (like a specific tile) and pieces he sourced to help everything come together. I should also mention he’s a pleasure to work with and made the whole experience fun. Thank you, Mark!!

Mark Schubert successfully designed the perfect kitchen, updated my homes paint color and created a home gym for us. He really listened to what we wanted and made helpful suggestions to keep the price from escalating out of our budget. While I am not particularly savvy on the ways and lingo of decorating he was patient and worked to understand what we wanted and what would make us happy. We are so pleased with our home. Mark was always responsive to emails and phone calls and completed the work within the time frame promised. We had an excellent experience with him.

Mark from Phillip Harrison was possibly the single best thing that happened to us in 2020. We were lucky to have found him right before covid and the lock downs . He was fantastic and his vision for the partial remodel we planned for our townhouse exceeded every expectation we had . We interviewed four interior designers to renovate and update our small townhouse. Since our budget was tight, we made a list of priorities. Mark of PH assured us they work on small projects. Walking from room to room he was professional, organized, shared a wealth of knowledge and experience in design options, had extensive connections in the field, and was excited by the challenge to deliver the best design plan for our budget. We hired Mark finding him to be honest, talented, and passionate about his work. He prepared a detailed, design plan that represented our interests and his creativity with specific recommendations for each room, including vendors, contractors, estimates, photos, and more. He communicates with the contractors checking every step of the way to ensure the work is done correctly. He has an eye for detail and sets high standards which he achieves sometimes by looking at items creatively as works of art. Initially we couldn’t fully appreciate the style he drafted for the bathroom but now, finished, is the most complemented room in the house. Thank goodness Mark successfully guided two hesitant souls that could never have accomplished the same beautiful results as aesthetically, cost-effectively, and timely as he did. He transformed our house from a dark, cluttered, tired interior to a much brighter, more contemporary home, that feels more spacious and is comfortable to live in. We are very happy with the results and highly recommend Mark of Philip Interior and Design to anyone taking on a home renovation.

We used Phillip Harrison to help us get settled in our new home in Brookfield, IL. Mark listened, got our style and budget, and made wonderful recommendations for a sophisticated, kid-friendly home. When we had to unexpectedly sell a year later, our house sold in two days for asking price which was well over what we had paid just 18 months earlier.
