We absolutely loved working with the JSDG team! As newcomers to the North Shore, we were excited to fix up our Deerfield home and were thrilled to work with Jamie, Olivia, and the rest of the team based on friends’ recommendations. Over the year, it was such a joy getting to know them, feeling completely at ease in their showroom even with our energetic 2 year old in tow! They really took the time to understand our style and needs, gently pushing us out of our comfort zones in the best way. The results speak for themselves. We love everything we chose and couldn’t recommend them more for anyone seeking expert design guidance. We’re already looking forward to future projects with them!

We had a great experience working with the Schachtel team and wholeheartedly recommend them. We hired Olivia to redesign our main dining and living area, as well as our downstairs family room in our duplex condo. The team exceeded our expectations. Due to the layout of our home and our location in Chicago, we faced some spatial constraints, but Olivia navigated these seamlessly with the support of her team. Everything they selected fits perfectly. My husband and I were new to the interior design process, and honestly, we came in with no direction—no inspiration photos, no budget in mind, and no clear idea of what we wanted. Despite that, Olivia and her team made everything feel effortless and fun. We love how it all turned out, and we appreciate that the investment was reasonable, especially given that this isn't our forever home. Olivia was patient with us throughout, even when we were indecisive, and she welcomed us back to the studio for a follow-up appointment to finalize accessory details at no extra charge. I also want to highlight that their fees are very fair and affordable, and I truly value their willingness to work with smaller projects without a minimum spend. This is rare among high-end design teams in Chicago, from what I found. Although we were likely one of their smaller clients, we never felt overlooked or less important. Olivia was responsive, professional, and a joy to work with. She kept things moving, even when we faced manufacturing delays and some indecisiveness on our end. While there was a mishap with one delivery and some delays, I don’t think it's fair to hold the interior design team responsible—these issues are outside their control. I also expected delays, as furniture deliveries rarely arrive on time. Ultimately, we're very happy we chose the Schachtel team for our interior design needs and would definitely hire them again for future projects.

“This is a long overdue review for Jamie Schachtel Design Group.”

This is a long overdue review for Jamie Schachtel Design Group! I would recommend them 10/10 times! The design team helped us source furniture, rugs, paint, carpet, lighting, and window treatments, as well as, design layouts for each of the main rooms on our first floor. I was able to give them my inspiration pictures and they went above and beyond finding pieces/styles that were exactly what I wanted. Almost every visitor I have asks me where my furniture came from and compliments the style in each room. I could not be happier with how our design turned out :).

I had the pleasure of working with Olivia and Jamie Schachtel! They consulted me with putting together my girls' nursey room. I had a vision of what I wanted, but didn't know how to put the pieces together. I showed them my inspirations and they took it from there! They were very knowledge, confident, and communicative during the process. I was searching for wallpaper for weeks, and Olivia found this one wallpaper and I fell inlove! It is the wallpaper we are using. Whenever i needed their help, they were very responsive and supportive. I would highly recommend partnering with them for any project!

We had a great experience working with Jamie and Olivia. From the start they had a great and clear vision for the two rooms we did with them - which included reorienting the layout of our family room, new furniture, adding in built in bookshelves, and adding in some accessories. We did have an incident of damaged furniture , but Jamie and Olivia handled it promptly and make it right. The only feedback was related to some scaling/sizing issues of the recommended pieces, so perhaps double check those. Overall, we are very happy with how our two rooms came out, and thank Jamie and Olivia for a job well done!
