We recently worked with Habitar and its sister construction company on a renovation of our primary bedroom, bathroom and closet, adding washer/dryer. From the initial conversation with Mitch to the design with Brandy, and then the demo & construction, we had a great experience. Communication was regular and transparent, and when some hiccups arose, we were presented with options and the work didn't move forward until we approved. This was a first big reno for us, and we will not hesitate to use Habitar again on future projects. Mitch and his entire team were fabulous and we have already referred them to three friends.

I had such a wonderful experience working with Habitar in updating my kitchen. Everyone I worked with was professional and committed to the project. The finished product is exactly as I was hoping for. I was looking for help in giving my kitchen a refresh by painting the cabinets and replacing the fixtures and backsplash. I wanted to work with a design firm that could incorporate modern elements into my dated kitchen without having to replace countertops or cabinets. I reached out to several interior design firms in Chicago but most turned me down because my project was not large enough for them. However Habitar, despite the project being smaller than most they accept, was willing to do the work! Mitch, the owner, explained that he was sure I will have bigger projects in the future and that once I work with them on this small project, I will be sure to come back for the bigger ones. MacKenzie, the designer, took the time to listen to what I was hoping to do and she had a bunch of ideas without overwhelming me with options. Patrycja, the project coordinator, worked with me to get the project to meet my budget and was consistently responsive throughout the work. Sarah and her team were meticulous with the tile on the backsplash as well as with the fixtures and cabinetry (and so sweet with my curious cat who wanted to supervise all the action). The painting team was skillful and were prompt with the touch-ups that are inevitable during the first few weeks after a project. At the end of the project, the team made it clear that all their work is under warranty for one year and that I should reach out with any concerns at all. The Habitar team made the whole design and construction process as easy as it could be. I’m really happy with how the kitchen turned out and with the communication along the way. Mitch is correct that I will be reaching out to Habitar again for future projects. Update, 4/18/25 I had such a wonderful experience with Habitar when they updated my kitchen that, after recently moving, I decided to use them again to add an electric fireplace and shelving to a blank wall in my new living room. Their work did not disappoint! The designer was so helpful in transplanting my vision into a beautiful design plan within my budget. The workmanship is excellent and the workmen that did the instillation and painting were professional, diligent, and friendly. Everyone at Habitar from the owner, Mitch, to each person that works for him is helpful, thoughtful, and committed to doing good work. Having worked with them twice, I can confidently say that they are a delightful company to work with their work delivers beautiful results.

Had a wonderful time working with the team! Starting from the initial meeting with Mitch and ending with some final touch ups around the house, they did an excellent job renovating our place for us. “I am picky and quite a perfectionist.”

I am picky and quite a perfectionist. That said, Habitar Design not only met -- but exceeded my expectations and surpassed every marker. Primarily, Habitar and its sister construction company designed and renovated my kitchen and primary bathroom. But Habitar did work throughout my apartment, designing and building shelving units in my den and bedroom, designing and building a floating vanity -- that is not only functional but beautiful -- better than any product on the market. And Habitar came up with workable solutions to ensure that a farmers sink could work with a garbage disposal. Additonally, Habitar designed and installed baseboards throughout that hides unsightly cable cords. Habitar's work is the envy of neighbors, family and friends. I have recommended -- and will continue to recommend -- Habitar. Mackenzie was my designer -- and not only was she talented, but offered innovative solutions, and was an absolute joy to work with. I am in awe and so appreciative of Habitar. The company totally rocks!!!
