Glad I went with General Masonry to tuckpoint my whole house (single story) and I would recommend them! The did a great job matching the existing mortar and cleaning up after which got really dirty with the mortar dust and needed to be power washed. It usually happens after a few days which could have been better explained but glad Chris (Project Mgr) checked up and squared it away before I even had to inquire. They do stand by their work, because about a couple weeks after I signed off I noticed crevices that were missed, so Chris came back out to tuckpoint missed spots. it's hard to see all of them especially if you don't look at the right angle and the daylight exposure. I had to tag them with blue tape to remember where they were and so Chris wouldn't miss them either when he returned to fix it.

General Masonry Construction and Supply Venture in Northbrook did my limestone fireplace, at my home in Northbrook. The stone was absolutely beautiful! Aneta has the most beautiful stone choices, better than any other supplier on the Northshore- I looked at numerous stores all over. My stone came all the way from Texas, and it was worth the wait. When my fireplace arrived the workers from General Masonry installed it, and they did a great job! Payed attention to detail, ensured it was properly secured, and all the pieces were assembled with the highest level craftsmanship! I would definitely recommend this Masonry to anyone who is looking to do stone work/fireplaces. I am very happy with my fireplace and the job that was done.

The estimate included photos of the areas that needed attention, which helped us understand the scope of the project. The crew doing the work was very good... very professional, knowledgeable and efficient. Aneta (owner) has been a pleasure to work with... updating me on the progress and accommodating my needs. Because of all of this, I will be using their services again to update our flagstone walkway in the near future.

I contracted General Masonry Construction to renovate my front entry steps. From start to finish I couldn’t be happier. The outcome is stunning. The crew was very polite and hard working. Not to mention their work is impeccable. After one year and 6 contractors later I was just about ready to give up on this project. Then I came across Aneta ( owner GMC ). Her advice and recommendations were on point which no one else offered. She actually listens to what you want. Chris the VP and foreman could not be more pleasant and knowledgeable. Another plus, is GMC has their own supply and showroom which takes the headache out of running around looking for materials. The communication back and forth was the best I’ve experienced with any contractor. They also accommodated getting my railings back in place as no one would take on the job. I highly recommend General Masonry Construction in Northbrook IL. So happy I found them.

Project manager, Chris and his crew reset our twenty year old bluestone patio and pavers around our asphalt driveway. The crew was hard working and respectful of our landscaping and cleaned the workspace at the end of each day. Aneta, the owner,kept us informed through rain delays so we never had to worry about the work schedule. She was also very responsive to our questions. We were very pleased and wouldn’t think of having anyone else do any future repairs.
